Why we Vote

When the Colonists revolted against the British, they were not against being taxed.. They understood that some taxes were necessary. They were against being taxed without having either a direct vote or direct representation controlling the imposing of taxes.

The question was never the immediate amount of taxation that the British were asking of the colonists. The question was whether the British had the right to impose taxes at all. We are talking about people (the American colonists) who had enormous sensitivity to the dangers of power.

IF YOU CONCEDE THE RIGHT TO ANY GOVERNMENT BODY TO TAX AND NOT PLACE A CHECK OR LIMIT ON IT, IT WILL GO ON INDEFINABLY AND GROW. You WILL be bled white, the power to tax was, and is, If uncontrolled or unlimited, the power to destroy.

Voting is not just for control of taxes, voting led to the all of the other rights and freedoms we enjoy everyday.

THE THOUGHT OF VOTING OPENED UP THE FLOOD GATES, FOR FREEDOM, SO TO SPEAK.

Once the people really got into the idea of voting, they started thinking about other rights and freedoms they had dreamed about and wanted. So from the gates opened by the desire to vote, came the BILL OF RIGHTS, and THE US CONSTITUTION. Dreams became a reality. Somewhat simplistic maybe, but just think about it. The right to vote is the very foundation of our country, and the importance of the vote to defend all of our “RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS” can not be overstated or denied.

I have never talked to anyone that denied the importance of voting. I have never talked to anyone that did not believe in the right to vote. I have talked to a lot of people that did not vote for one reason or another. Really only one reason makes sense They have known the freedoms and rights we have all enjoyed for so long, they take them for granite. They think “no one can ever take them away from me.”

Please note, all freedoms and rights are “PAPER RIGHTS”, the only right given by “GOD”, is the right and freedom to THINK. MAN CONTROLS ALL OF THE OTHER RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS. Paper Rights and Freedoms can

be taken away with the lighting of "ONE MATCH. Our RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS WERE TAKEN FROM THE ENGLISH IN “WAR” AND THEY CAN TAKEN AWAY BY ANY “ POLITICIAN WHO IS WILLING, FOR WHATEVER REASON, TO OVERLOOK OR IGNORE WHAT OUR COUNTRY IS ALL ABOUT.” You know, maybe just for Greed.

The ONLY way to KEEP, ENJOY AND PROTECT our RIGHTS, AND FREEDOMS is to “VOTE”
