Since 9/11, I have seen a lot of flag waving, singing of songs and
chanting of “U- S-A”, all in the name of PATRIOTISM. There is
nothing wrong with this. The dictionary defines a Patriot as:
A New Day is Dawning in America, Massachusetts Miracle
“ONE WHO LOVES THEIR COUNTRY AND ZEALOUSLY GUARDS IT’S WELFARE.”
Flag waving, singing songs and chanting U.S.A., show a love of
country, this is great. BUT, it does not zealously guard the welfare
of the country. The members of the military love their country to
the extent of putting their lives on the line, I can safely say that
they guard it’s welfare zealously. HOWEVER!!!!, being in the
military is not the only way to be a Patriot,. and not being in the
military is OK too. A person can be confined to a wheelchair, or
bed, be of any age, sex, gender or religion and still be as great a
patriot as any person on duty in the military.
The requirement to be a patriot is that a person loves, their
country and zealously guards it’s welfare. To add to the
demonstrated love, Zealously guarding the welfare of the country is
so easy and simple.
“BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE GOVERNMENT YOU LOVE".
By doing so, you can zealously guard it’s welfare!!!
One of the wonderful things about our country is that a person does
not have to agree with all, or any, of the policies or people of our
government. When you support and participate in our government you
agree to allow yourself and others to disagree. This “Right” is a
very special part of our government and when you sit down and think
about it, countries and people in the rest of the world that enjoy
this right are really very few.
Guarding the welfare of the country by participation and support
sounds real difficult, but look at it for a second. Support can be
achieved simply by participating in our government.. Participation
is so easy. and in one word, all it amounts to is VOTE, VOTE YOUR
CHOICE, BUT VOTE.
Voting is not only your right, it is the duty of every citizen to
vote. By voting you are demonstrating with Ballots that you are
guarding the welfare of the our country.. The military with their
bullets alone can not guarantee the welfare of our country. There
needs to be ballots for their support. EVERY VOTE COUNTS EVERY TIME.
A person that waves flags, sings songs and chants U-S-A, is great,
BUT if they do not VOTE, They are just ‘WANTA BE” PATRIOTS.
Every person should ask and help everyone they know to vote, Every
organization should ask and help every member to vote, Every
employer should ask and help every employee to vote.
BY VOTING EVERY CITIZEN CAN BE A REAL HERO AND PATRIOT.
